Nitrous Oxide Emissions from an Alpine Grassland as Affected by Nitrogen Addition

چکیده
Nitrogen (N) addition is an important nutrient strategy for alpine grassland in northwestern China to improve productivity livestock needs. A field experiment was conducted a semi-arid investigate the effect of N rates on soil N2O emissions over growing seasons 2017 and 2018. Treatments included six (0, 10, 30, 60, 120, 240 kg ha?1 y?1), which were applied before each season. The fluxes increased with showed different episodic changes between two seasons. In 2017, maximum flux rate occurred within 2 weeks following addition. 2018, however, later season due heavy rainfall event. Growing cumulative ranged 0.32 1.11 ha?1, linearly rates. Increasing 60 yr?1 did not further increase plant above-ground biomass. inter-annual variability suggests importance moisture affecting emissions. It particularly avoid over-applying nutrients beyond needs reduce its negative environment while maintaining productivity. dissolved organic carbon (DOC) pH. These results suggest optimal this region should be yr?1.

متن کاملNitrous Oxide Emissions from Dairy Farmlets, as Affected by Use of a Nitrification Inhibitor and a Winter Restricted Grazing Strategy
Experimental farmlets at DairyNZ’s Prototype Farm near Hamilton were used to determine potential reductions in nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from use of a nitrification inhibitor and a restricted grazing regime. A control farmlet was managed under a conventional rotational grazing regime, while a “tight nitrogen” farmlet was managed under a similar grazing regime to that on the control farmlet,...
متن کاملNitrous oxide emissions from wastewater treatment processes.
Nitrous oxide (N(2)O) emissions from wastewater treatment plants vary substantially between plants, ranging from negligible to substantial (a few per cent of the total nitrogen load), probably because of different designs and operational conditions. In general, plants that achieve high levels of nitrogen removal emit less N(2)O, indicating that no compromise is required between high water quali...
